TOASTED ALMOND DIP (From Wreath Fineries at Eleven Wineries 2006) 1 - 8 ounce package cream cheese, softened 1 - 1/2 cups (6 ounces) Swiss cheese, shredded 1/2 cup mayonnaise 2 tablespoons green onions, chopped 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg 1/8 teaspoon black pepper 1/3 cup sliced almonds, toasted Crackers Thoroughly mix all ingredients except crackers and spread evenly in a 9" pie plate. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes, stirring after 8 minutes. Serve with crackers. CANDIED KIELBASA (From Wreath Fineries at Eleven Wineries 2006) 1 cup packed brown sugar 1/2 cup ketchup 1/4 cup prepared horseradish 2 pounds kielbasa, thinly sliced Combine all the sauce ingredients in a crockpot. Add the kielbasa and turn to coat. Cook on High until the sauce begins to bubble. Reduce heat to Low and cook until the sauce thickens, approximately one hour. TACO PASTA SALAD (Taste of Home’s 2006 Quick Cooking Annual Recipes) (From Pasta Primo Vino 2006) 2 cups uncooked spiral pasta 1 pound ground beef 1 envelope taco seasoning 1/2 cup chopped onion 1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper 3 cups shredded lettuce 1/2 cup Catalina salad dressing 2 cups cherry tomatoes, halved 1 cup (4 oz.) shredded cheddar cheese Cook pasta according to package directions. Meanwhile, in a skillet, cook beef over medium heat until no longer pink; drain. Stir in the taco seasonings; cool. Drain pasta and rinse in cold water; stir into meat mixture. Add the lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, onions, green pepper and dressing; toss to coat. Chill until serving time. Serve with tortilla or corn chips. |
