As a member of the Shawangunk Wine Trail, we participate in all the trail events. It would be very difficult to accommodate the large event crowds in our regular tasting room, so we transform our fruit packing room downstairs in the barn just for these events. We don't do much primping for the Pasta Primo Vino event, but the walls are full of information about our particular adopted country for the Around the World event, and for Wreath Fineries, we decorate so much, we hardly recognize the place! We hope to see you at an event soon.
Pasta Primo Vino - April 19 & 20Join us for the first event of the year! Start the day with an empty stomach because each of the wineries will have their own delectable pasta dish on hand for you to sample. This year we'll have our version of "Husband's Delight," a dish we think is comfort food at its best. Plus, it's easy to prepare from everyday ingredients. If the weather is cooperative, Pasta Primo Vino a great way to jump start the season after a long, cold, dreary winter. Should you be interested, you'll find the recipe for Husband's Delight, Glorie Style on the Recipes page. Around the World in 80 Miles - June 14 & 15
Does everyone have their passport? Well, you'll need to have it ready for stamping at ten different countries for this popular Father's Day weekend event. Last year we adopted Poland and had a great time serving up pierogies and tapping our feet to the Jimmy Sturr Orchestra's polka music. For 2008 Glorie Farm Winery will be adopting Greece. Toga party!!! Come learn all about Greece, a country of approximately just 11 million people, but descended from one of the oldest civilizations on earth. And since this is an Olympic year, we can all learn a little something about the birthplace of the Olympic Games. We hope you'll join us for a great wine tasting with a little Greek culinary sampling, as well as lots of information to digest about Greece. Oh, and we're just kidding about the togas, but you can wear one if you like!
Bounty of the Hudson Wine & Food Festival - July 26 & 27 For this event, you have only to drive to one place. All the wineries will be in attendance at an as yet undetermined location. (We'll put the location in here as soon as we know it.) This event isn't just about the wineries. Top-rated restaurants and food purveyors (sometimes unusual ones!) join us as well. There will be live music to sit and enjoy, too. Let's see: food, wine, music, and relaxation. Sounds like a good time to us!
Wreath Fineries at 11 Wineries
December 6 & 7, 13 & 14, 20 & 21 The most popular event of the year and always a sellout, so don't wait to get your tickets! Wine makes a great gift for all occasions, but it can't be beat for the holidays. Wine tastings and sweet or savory morsels at each of the trail wineries. Here at Glorie Farm Winery, we promise to always serve up something that we think you, too, would like to serve at your holiday get-togethers. |
